Working with teenagers in school

In order to focus on how to make the music experience more opened to listeners and to facilitate access to new music experiences for new listeners, Unijazz will draw on its experience of working with the young generation during the Alternativa festival. We will invite experienced artists to elaborate residencies in school and create a site specific project together with the students, in a familiar and safe environment for them.

The students will become actors and creators themselves, gaining concrete inspirational experiences and the artistic experiment will reach a new audience of other students, parents and friends of the participating teenagers.

Students’ involvement will not be limited to artistic activities: they could also become actively involved in other professions related to the preparation of the event. Among other things, this fully corresponds to Unijazz’s wish to raise a new generation of creators and organisers for the festival.​
