Actions with the local community

The focus on this residency will be the development of a series of small actions – performances and recordings – with the local community and the spaces surrounding Sonoscopia´s neighbourhood.

On a city such as Porto, whose touristic growth produced radical changes in the city’s historical dynamic, rethinking urban areas outside the center can point some directions towards a more balanced social development. On this residency, we will work closely with the local population, inviting them to participate in the actions and discover the area through the performances that will take place in unusual places in Sonoscopia´s surroundings, such as a former military facility and an abandoned horse training arena.

Sonoscopia’s house house will also be opened during the residency days, allowing the community to join, listen and participate in the creative processes, eat, drink and live collectively.
